Treat yourself (and your friends) to a little me-time with a creative workshop from the comfort of your home.

This workshop is inspired by nature, so it’s perfect for Christmas (or any time of year!). It’s all about mixing painting and embroidery to create gorgeous greeting cards.

Across 6 easy-to-follow videos, I’ll give you a fun, quick introduction to textile art – ideal if you’re a beginner!

You’ll find out how to create layered artworks that can be turned into greeting cards for your nearest and dearest. Who doesn’t love a handmade card?

Gain confidence with new techniques

We’re going to cover:

  • Using spray paints and botanicals to create the background
  • Mark-making: adding interesting marks and textures to the artwork
  • Monoprinting with botanicals, like seedheads and grasses
  • Adding a textural layer with free motion embroidery
  • Mounting and stitching your artwork onto cotton rag paper then onto a greeting card

Play with materials that are easy to work with

You’ll need:

  • Lutradur heavy-weight fabric (a great base for mixed media artworks)
  • Spray paints (at least 2 colours)
  • Fabric paints or acrylics
  • Objects and plants to print with (like seedheads and leaves)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Sewing machine and threads for free motion embroidery
  • Cotton rag paper/watercolour paper
  • Plain greeting cards
  • Optional: metallic paint (for added sparkle!)

You’ll create amazing textures with these materials – they’re readily available in shops and online. (You’ll receive a more detailed supplies list as soon as you sign up).

New to free motion embroidery?

This is the perfect opportunity to experiment and get creative. No need to be nervous! I’ll show you how to set up your sewing machine and get started.

We’ll use our monoprints to guide the machine stitching (if you prefer, you can stick to hand stitching).

Make time for you

After signing up, you’ll have instant, lifetime access to the workshop. The videos are pre-recorded to fit around your lifestyle, so you can start whenever you like (and re-watch them again in the future!).

Why not invite a few friends over with some mince pies and have an arty day?

Accessible and achievable

Creativity and wellbeing go hand-in-hand, so this workshop invites you to slow down and have fun, whatever your skill level.
