In this project, we’ll have fun with paint pouring on fabric, combining it with mark-making to create an abstract background. We’ll then layer free motion embroidery over scrim (or any other sheer fabric) to create a botanical design. I love how the abstract painted surface becomes an integral part of the finished botanical piece.

Tip: you may want to pour paint on a larger piece of fabric than you need, as it can get messy, and then cut it down to size.
