With over 28 years of teaching experience, I am a mixed media textile artist based in York, North Yorkshire. I find inspiration in the places I explore, capturing moments through instant photography, which become the foundation of my creative process.
I am fascinated by the beauty of discarded and weathered objects, especially those that are rusted or aged. My artwork often incorporates recycled materials, adding an eco-friendly touch to my creations.
My artistic approach is fluid and experimental, often working on multiple pieces simultaneously. I embrace abstraction and expression, letting my creativity guide me. Techniques like dyeing, stitching, painting, and printing are integral to my work, adding depth, texture, and richness.
Manipulating fabrics is a particular passion of mine. I enjoy distressing and transforming them into unique textures, aiming to create artwork that celebrates the charm of imperfection and the passage of time.
