In this hands-on, inspiring workshop, textile artist Deborah Campbell guides you through her personal process for creating exactly that. You’ll learn how to create linear prints to depict rock formations, explore printing techniques that echo the textures, colours and tones of beach and coastal waters, then bring everything together through collage, layering and stitch to create a coastal landscape full of depth and a genuine sense of place.

Deborah Campbell is a mixed media and textile artist based in Kilmacolm, Scotland. Inspired by Scotland’s coastal landscapes and birdlife, she combines print, stitch and collage to create complex, organic artworks.
Deborah trained in Printed Textiles at Glasgow School of Art and has extensive experience in textile printing and embroidery. She works with multiple fabric textures, including organza and gauze, layering colour and pattern to create depth. Her free-motion embroidery technique turns her sewing machine into a drawing tool, adding life and fine detail to her compositions.
Deborah’s teaching style is relaxed and playful, encouraging experimentation, creativity and the exploration of new techniques.
