About Ellie Hipkin, curator of Flourish
Textile art saved my life.
It’s how I coped with unthinkable loss, and how I draw on the calming power of nature. After a decade working in fashion, this expressive and tactile art form is now at the heart of what I do.
I sell my embroidered paintings, prints, cushions, scarves and notebooks around the world, and have the enormous joy of passing on my favourite skills and techniques as a teacher, and as curator of Flourish Textile Art Hub.

I have now attended two of Ellie's in person Workshops - a 1-day course on Monoprinting followed by a 3-day course on Textile Art and I can highly recommend them. Ellie is a fabulous teacher, so kind-spirited and encouraging to those attending her course and is someone who is happy to share her knowledge, skills and experience to be able to inspire and help others become more creative. I really enjoyed my time on the courses and I would love to join some of her new online courses and tutorials to be able to learn even more - looking forward to it Ellie!

I attended a three day textile art class led by Ellie Hipkin. I can honestly say that I had a fantastic time and came away with two pieces of work that I’m very pleased with. I had never done anything like this before, but Ellie’s instruction was clear and focused and she was always encouraging. She guided us through mark making, mono printing, paint washing and freehand motion embroidery. I would highly recommend her classes - a must for anyone wishing to develop their skills in this area.

I am really enjoying the Flourish membership. I am loving the tutorials which are guiding us each month and using the skills taught to expand how I approach my projects. Your videos each month guiding us through are easy to follow and there’s no pressure to complete by a set time so it’s easy for me to work around my job and other commitments. I love to see everyone else pictures too within the group.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the year, not only to complete the projects set each month but also to expand my knowledge and skills in mixed media, this membership has opened up so many ideas and possibilities for me. I have even joined our local open studio group and may open up my own workroom next year.

I definitely recommend Ellie Hipkin Artist membership. It's a great package. Monthly projects that have clearly explained steps with a number of videos. Access to her skills videos (I recommend working through them all). Monthly group zoom meetings that even if you can't attend at the time you can email and questions you want answers to. A building library of artist interviews, and finally a one to one zoom call with Ellie during your membership giving you the chance to chat in a relaxed encouraging atmosphere.
